First Fruits

At last we get to eat something from our own garden, and as we shared the few sweet, flavoursome and totally chemical-free strawberries that are already ripe it suddenly seemed that all the dirt, sweat, bruises and ticks may be worth it. Sadly, the majority of the strawberries, and the redcurrants, are going to ripen next week, when we are in England. But after our return, we should witness a steady river of food flowing from garden to larder. Hooray!
